Trails End is situated approximately half a mile west of Copper Harbor along M-26. We offer nearby access to town, local trail systems, and Brockway Mountain drive. We are not located on the shores of Lake Superior, but do offer access to the shoreline via a short bike trail to Hunter's Point Park.

The short answer is yes. We are no longer operating under the previous first come, first served cash pay model of years past.

To be guaranteed a spot, please use our online reservation system to book your camper cabin or campsite in advance. If you arrive to the campground without a reservation please use the open wifi network found at our front entry kiosk to check availability, and if a site is open you are welcome to book it in real-time!

Our camper cabins are primitive and minimalistic. They do not have plumbing or electricity except for some simple solar lighting and a 12V charger (4 USB plugs) for your convenience. Inside you will find a table and chairs along with bench seating, a work space for cooking with trash bins below, a wood-stove with seasoned wood and kindling provided, and four mattresses (2 queens and 2 twins) for sleeping. You must bring your own cookware and linens/bedding. Outside you will find a porch seating area along with a picnic table and fire ring.

Our campsites are rustic. They include a picnic table and fire ring with a grill attachment. There are no water, sewer, or electrical hook-ups. There are three privy's about the campground each with a water spigot for potable water.

The camper cabins and campsites are self check-in. You do not need to contact us or do anything except arrive at your site after 3pm the day of check in. If you have any concerns, please utilize the WiFi at the entrance of the campground to send us a message.

Check-in is 3pm and Check-out is 11am. If you arrive early and your reserved site has been vacated/cleaned you may check in early. We do not guarantee site availability or a clean cabin before 3pm.

Eligibility for a refund is dependent upon the date the cancellation request is submitted and applies to both camper cabins and campsites.

Refunds will be issued as follows (minus processing fees):

Requests submitted 30+ days in advance of check-in date: Full refund

Requests submitted 15+ days in advance of check-in date: 50% refund

Requests submitted 7+ days in advance of check-in date: 25% refund

Requests submitted less than 7 days in advance of check-in date: Not eligible for a refund

Your well-behaved furry friends are welcome within the campground and cabins. Pets should be kept leashed and in your control at all times. Waste should be picked up and disposed of properly. Guests are responsible for damages, repairs, or additional cleaning required in cabins due to pets. If your pets tend to be noisy, anxious or aggressive in any way please consider finding a safe alternative for them during your visit.

Quiet hours in the campground extend from 10pm to 8am the following morning. Respect for your neighbors is expected.

Generator use is allowed in the campground, but we ask that they are used sparingly and respectfully during normal waking hours. Use of generators outside of quiet hours will not be tolerated.

We would like to encourage our guests to consider using quieter alternative power solutions when at all possible.

Most campers use their generator for an hour or two a day while other campers are out adventuring away from the campground.

Our campsites are rustic and do not provide any water, sewer, or electrical hookups on site. We have several sites that offer a deep, level parking surface to facilitate boondocking with your big rig.

Our spigots are not threaded to accept a hose, so we recommend filling tanks prior to your stay. We do not have a dump station for emptying tanks.

We are a rustic campground and offer no on-site shower facilities. As a work-around you can buy a day pass to the nearby Fort Wilkins State Park or a day pass to the Bohemia Spa area which both have shower facilites.
